PDLC · HIGH-PERFORMANCE SOLAR CONTROL
Blackout Hyper Glass
The darkest switchable glass in our range. Built to screen the sun, not just for privacy.
A PDLC that darkens instead of turning milky.
Most switchable glass turns opaque white when off. Blackout Hyper Glass does not: at rest it shifts to a deep, dark tint that absorbs light rather than scattering it. It is a dyed liquid crystal — the variant built for solar shading, not privacy alone. Powered on it returns clear like any PDLC; powered off it is the darkest surface we supply.
It absorbs light and heat. That is where it earns its place.
Glass that scatters light cuts the view but lets most of the energy through. Glass that absorbs it works on heat and glare. Blackout Hyper Glass belongs to the second family: on sun-exposed glazing it reduces solar gain and reflection far more than a conventional PDLC, while keeping the option to switch clear on command. An honest note: in full direct sun the tint is not absolute black — it shifts to a deep brown. It is not a mechanical full-blackout shade; it is dynamic solar control, and that is what it does best.
Same logic as PDLC. No moving parts.
Underneath it is still switchable glass: a layer of liquid crystals that changes state with an electric signal. Off, the dyed crystals absorb light; on, they align and let the view through. Controlled by switch, remote, app or automatically — like every switchable surface we supply.
How switchable glass worksIndependent by design. Connected when it counts.
Operating Blackout Hyper Glass takes a single gesture — a wall switch, a remote, an app — and it comes in two forms: switchable adhesive film, retrofitted onto existing glass, or laminated glass with the film already set between the panes for new supply. Where surfaces multiply, across whole façades or rooms meant to follow the sun without a hand on the switch, B-LOGIC can be integrated — the control platform we developed. It is the product we use to show dynamic solar control in our simulation. A possible extension, never a prerequisite.
